Rapids Riders Meeting
Present: Chad Kehn, David Conrad, Dave Friend, Sandy, Joe B., Peter H., Scott Ewen, Bob R., Mary, & Melissa Grover
Holiday Party: December 3, 2011; Building is reserved (Alan); David Conrad will open the building
Pool Sessions: Chad reserved the pool; dates are up on the website; first one is Nov. 27; Scott E. will lead instructional pool session in the late winter – dates TBD; Chad, Alan, & Dave F. will be in charge of collecting money
Instructors: Need to be CPR/First Aid certified – the club (Scott) will organize a class; Scott will contact instructors; Randy (UMD) is offering Canoe certification this spring & will offer kayak cert. in 2013
Canoe U: Discussion about offering a Canoe U class that entails 3 rolling sessions prior to the first weekend – Scott will try to find an instructor; Dave F. is willing to set up our PayPal account – will get account number from Alan; Scott suggested eliminating mailing in a paper registration – Survey Monkey is still up; need to decide what information we need to collect; Norway Point is reserved for the first weekend of Canoe U; Scott will reserve Robinson Park for second weekend; Garage Sale- at the Canoe U pool session and at 1st weekend or only 1st weekend?; Chad will run camp and cook; Scott E. is handling ACA insurance; Alan is taking care of t-shirts; safety boaters will be limited this year to reduce the group sizes; Chad will reserve the classroom at the pool for Canoe U pool session
Survivor’s Party: To have or not to have? Who will reserve Hidden Falls Park?
Marketing: We will advertise in the Expo newsletter a fun meeting in a few months where we’ll show a video, eat pizza, and hold a short meeting
