Forty people are already signed up
for classes.
The Tandem Canoe class is full.
Wilderness class may be held
later. Potentially 1st
or 2nd weekend in April.
Instructors Skills Workshop
People have been given days to
attend the clinic.
Donations
It was decided to donate $2000 of
funds to the local kayaking community.
$250 – Rhinelander whitewater park
$500 – KCI (
$200 – MCA (covers hotline)
$250 – Used to get signage about
kayaking posted at the Vermillion railroad bridge.
$300 –
$500 – Mississippi Whitewater Park
(WWPDC)
Film Festival March 23rd
There will be a free pool session
to all that attend. The pool session
will held later in the evening. The will
also be some demo boats from Midwest Mountaineering and Over the Edge
Adventures.
Snacks will be available from Pearsons. There will
also be a very large nut given away.
Everybody like nut rolls. Mmmmmmm
Entrance fee is $10 There will be DVD door prizes.
Redline Entertainment donated DVDs to be given away and raffled.
All proceeds will go to the
Whitewater Park (WWPDC).
There will be many items available
at the raffle from paddling gear to Chanhassen Dinner Theatre tickets.
Bear Paw
Bear Paw will offer a 10% discount
to all Rapids Riders members. List will
soon be sent to Bear Paw. Remember you
are only a Rapids Riders member if you are a MCA member and have attend a Rapids Riders event in the last two years. This does not cover boat purchases.
First Aid Kits – If you have a Rapids Riders first aid kit
please contact Dale so they can be used for
Next Meeting - April 9th. Location TBA. All meetings may stop for the summer after
the survivor party.
Peer Vermillion Rodeo – April 12th
Put on by the Bushwackers. Will be a down river and peer rodeo. More details will hopefully be posted on the
Rapids Riders website. There is also a
potential for a Riot Demo at the Vermillion.
CPR Class – There is on spot left for the class on
March 24 from
