Meeting Minutes
February 10, 2010
Present: Jeremiah A., Tina A., Art C., Melissa G., Scott E., Chad K., Seth D.
Canoe U:
- Chad will include map and arrival instructions in CanoeU handout packet
- Chad is contacting individuals regarding meals for CanoeU
- Jeremiah will get approval and schedule 3 outhouses and water for Robinson weekend
- T-shirts
- Design contest again
- Art will talk to Alex about setting up contest and getting it on the website
- $25 gift card to Midwest Mountaineering for the winner
- Deadline for contest is 3 weeks before CanoeU
- Scott E. will help run CanoeU this year with some changes
- Pre CanoeU and nightly review for safety boaters
- Safety boaters meeting before CanoeU will be during pool night of CanoeU
- Scott and Art will put together the safety packet
- Chad will print the safety packets
- Alan will reserve Hidden Falls for the Survivors Party for 6/17
- Art will talk to Alex P. about getting logos on water bottles
- Melissa can get the water bottles
- Extra bottles will be available for sale at cost to students
- There will be two skill sessions, February 21st and 28th
- Intro night and advanced night with playboating and advanced strokes
- No pool session March 7th in lieu of a safety session
Swift Water rescue courses
- Brian B. will do a series of swift water rescue workshops
- One pool session and a series at Jims Falls
- Unanimous voting in approval of $50 charge for courses; a 2 day course would be $100
- Need list from Brian for course
- Chad will post the information to the website
- Made money from pool sessions in December and January
Other business
- Chad will look into a Midwest boat demo day
- Alan will talk to Dave about getting necessary things posted to the website
- Wausau is planning on doing the course adjustment mid-May
